Montelbano back on top/Montelbano gagne à nouveau

Written by Matrix team at 14:26 3/11-2014

After ending « only » second last season in Essex Tour, beaten for the 1st time by an excellent Becerrill in TF, some managers may have thought Sir Sandro would not win anymore in Essex.
And because of his age, and his relative bad performance in Cymru (only 4th, but mostly because of bad managment from the team), and several great contenders in TF, there were reasons for us to doubt.

But once more, as he already did some times after quite bad 1st stages in England, he showed everyone he's almost unbeatable in here. 5th in the 1st stage, ending as the 1st TTist, and 4th in the TT stage, he secured a quite easy victory with more than a half-a-minute gap with the 2nd rider in the GC classification.

Now he won 9 times in Essex, and i'm quite confident he can win it a 10th time, maybe next season, maybe the season after. And i'll do everything i can to help him in what could be the most impressive achievement ever in OCM history.

  ---------------------------------------------------------------------

  He definitely deserves a bio.

Matrix team at 20:14 3/11-2014
Honestly i doubt it will happen once more, but who knows? 10 seasons ago, would someone have betted a guy would win a Tour 9 times?

Manisaspor at 19:35 3/11-2014
  No one. Impossible.
